Crumblin' Mike's Story
Starting from a passion for drawing and baking, Michael is now combining the two.
Meet Michael
Michael grew up in Detroit, studied in Miami, and now calls Boston home. Along the way, he's collected a little something from every place he's been, and it all finds its way into Crumblin' Mike's.
Ever since elementary school, Michael has dreamed of making things people love and giving them a good time while they're at it. Crumblin' Mike's is where those two dreams finally come together.
From elementary school
It all started with a pencil and a love of comic strips. In elementary school, Michael drew them constantly, and he was bold enough to mail them off to his local newspaper. He shared them with everyone he could: friends, family, and classmates who ended up as his first readers.
His favorite star was his childhood stuffed animal, BunBun, who got a comic strip adventure of his own.
Michael grew up, but that spark never left. It just kept growing into something bigger.
To college
In his final semester at the University of Miami, Michael stumbled into a brand new love: baking. Something about it just clicked.
From then on, he had a puzzle to solve. How do you bring together a lifelong love of storytelling and a newfound love of baking? It took some time, but he found his answer.
Now in Boston
Once he settled in Boston, Michael kept on baking. During one long, cold winter in 2026, he landed on a recipe that felt like a keeper. He's spent the time since perfecting it, and now he wants to share it with everyone.
Creating Crumblin' Mike's
Michael knew he wanted to bring his two loves together, and Crumblin' Mike's began to take shape. It started with a simple idea: little gnomes waddling around, baking cookies. Every morning before heading to his corporate job, he sat down and drew them.
Before long, the gnomes wanted more room to move. Michael started shaping them out of clay.
The mornings got busier, too. He was up early to bake, testing and tweaking the recipe until it was just right, and taking photos to show the world what he'd made.
Today
Today, Michael's goal is simple: to share great cookies and a good laugh with everyone who stops by. And this is only the beginning, because there's a lot more on the way.
